Mr. Richard Byles, president and CEO of Sagicor Group Jamaica Ltd and co-chair of the Economic Pro-gram Oversight Committee (EPOC) will be the guest speaker at the Atlanta Jamaican Association’s (AJA) Annual Independence Ball and Scholarship Awards. EPOC is the first committee of its kind set up to provide oversight of Government’s performance in meeting the IMF fiscal and structural targets.

The AJA is the premier Jamaican organization in Atlanta. It uses its well supported Annual Independence Ball and Scholarship Awards —a black-tie affair to be held at the Marriott Gateway Hotel on Saturday, August 16, 2014, as one of its main fundraisers in support of its many charities. Under the leadership of President Alan Stewart, the AJA has expanded its scholarship program to students in Jamaica; initiated new projects, such as the AJA youth arm, Tallawah; partnered with Teen Challenge Jamaica, an organization that rehabilitates at-risk teenagers battling drug addiction; and affiliated with the newly formed Atlanta Jamaican Chamber of Commerce; in addition to its continued work of serving the needs of the Jamaican community in Atlanta and Jamaica.

Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.ajaatlanta.org; secretary.ajaatlanta@gmail.com or by calling 404-556-3773; 404-509-7160; 770-940-4280; 770-403-6435.
