Caribbean American Heritage Month – June 2021 programs

  • Caribbean Storytime: Every Wednesday in the month at 7pm, beginning on Wednesday June 2. The programs will be uploaded to Facebook Live and Instagram Live. Make sure the kids in your life are tuned in. One exciting difference this year: for the older kids, Jacqui Brown will be doing a reading from the book “My Fishy Stepmom” by Barbadian author Shakirah Bourne. Date: TBD.
  • Caribbean Film Festival Panel Discussion: Saturday June 26 at 6 pm. Caribbean filmmakers will discuss the topic “Issues in Caribbean Film”. Audience members will also hear about their forthcoming and future projects.
  • Caribbean Film Festival Film Screening: The documentary “Stateless” (Haiti and the Dominican Republic) will be screened June 25-July 3; you will watch it on your own on those dates. On Sunday June 27, we will come together via Zoom to have a Q&A/discussion about the film with members of Atlanta’s Haitian community.
